Social Robot for English Language Learning among Young Learners
About Us
We are a research team from the Department of Psychology, the Education University of Hong Kong. This research project “Social Robot for English Language Learning among Young Learners” is funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Government (ITC) under the Innovation and Technology Fund for Better Living (FBL), and officially started in May 2023 for a period of three years.
Social Robot
The social robot, named Joey, is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and can interact with children and enhance their English language development through storytelling learning activities. Teachers can also customize the teaching content through the social robot and adjust the learning progress according to the students' language ability.
